For the week of 2/4 to 2/11/10


Berean Sports

Friday & Saturday, February 12th – 13th, the varsity basketball team will be playing in the Roanoke Baptist Varsity Tournament.  The team and the cheerleaders will leave at 10:00 a.m.  Their first game starts at 1:00 p.m.  Upon winning their first game, the Bobcats will play their second game at 7:00 p.m.  Students will need money for five meals total.  Also, concessions are available throughout each day.  This tournament will cost each player and each cheerleader $35.  The following list is for BBA fans planning to attend the tournament:
One-Day Pass:   Adult - $5   Student - $3   Family - $12
Single Game Pass:   Adult - $2   Student - $1   Family - $5

Tuesday, Febrary 16th, both basketball teams have an away game against Bethany of Troy.  The Jr. high game starts at 4:00 p.m. and the varsity game starts at 5:30 p.m.  The bus will leave at 1:30 p.m. and should return by 10 p.m.  Students will need to bring money for supper after the game.


9th – 12th Grade Classes Cancelled

Due to the number of students and staff involved in the Roanoke Tournament, there will be no classes for the 9th – 12th graders tomorrow, Friday, February 12th.


Sweatshirt / Denim Day

Tomorrow, all K4 – 8th graders are invited to enjoy a Sweatshirt / Denim Day at school.  Students should wear the appropriate denim with the sweatshirt / Hoodie or fleece of their choice.  Sweatshirts do not have to be Bobcat ones, but should follow Handbook guidelines (sports teams, brand names, logos, etc. are allowed).  Students may also wear tennis shoes.


Junior Class Lunch

Tomorrow, the Special Lunch will be: Chicken Nuggets, Chips, Jello / Cupcake, and Pop for only $3.00!  Support the Junior Class and purchase the special lunch with cash, check, or lunch card.


Valentines Parties

All K - 6th grade students will have their Valentine's parties tomorrow.  Don't forget your party food & Valentines!


Presidents' Day

No classes on Monday, February 15th, to honor Presidents' Day.


Senior Recognition

February 19th, the Seniors of Berean Baptist Academy will be honored during our annual Senior Recognition Night.  The ceremony begins at 5:15 p.m. in the Springbrook Middle School gymnasium.  Those participating in the ceremony will need to be in the gym by 5:00 p.m.  Also, just a reminder, all who are participating in the ceremony should wear Sunday style dress.


Baked-Goods Auction

February 19th, the Senior Class will be selling a variety of homemade desserts.  Come out and support the seniors, and don't forget to bring extra $$$ (checks welcome)!


Varsity Volleyball

Varsity Volleyball Practice will be held in the BBA gym from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18th, and Monday, February 22nd.  **If a student needs to stay after school until practice begins, they may stay with Miss Riley in her classroom.  If a student needs a ride home after practice please let Miss Patty or Miss Riley know.  If there are any questions please feel free to contact Miss Patty or Miss Riley.**  Plan on competeing in an away game Tuesday, February 23rd.
