Doug Rogers - PaSTOR

Pastor Doug Rogers grew up in Marion, Indiana, and was saved at the age of 17 through the ministry of the Grace Baptist Church in Bluffton, IN. In 1976, after graduating from Marion High School, he married his wife, Brenda. They then moved to Pensacola, Florida, where in 1982 he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Pensacola Christian College. In 1983, he started the Faith Baptist Church in Berne, Indiana, and then pastored in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Flint, Michigan. In 2002, he and his family came to Adrian, where he became the Senior Pastor at Berean. He and Brenda have two grown children, David and Angela.

 

Kevin Chase - sCHOOL aDMINISTRATOR

Bro. Kevin Chase has been on staff at Berean since July 2006. He is a native of California, having spent his early childhood in Northern California and his high school and college years in Southern California. He has earned a B.A. in International Business with a Minor in Spanish from California State University Fullerton, a Master's degree in Business Administration from Boston University, and a Master's degree in Pastoral Theology from Hyles-Anderson College.  He also served in the Marine Corps from 1989 - 1997 as a suppply and logistics officer.  Having trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior as a 21-year-old college senior, Kevin has served the Lord as an active weekly soul-winner, faithful bus driver, teacher, Christian school administrator, and a Spanish pastor. He is always willing to do whatever needs to be done for the work of Christ.

Tim Cook - Stewardship Pastor

Bro. Tim grew up at Berean since his birth, was saved at a young age, and called to preach at summer camp in 1987.  He attended BBA from kindergarten and graduated valedictorian in 1989.  From there, He went on to study Pastoral Theology at Hyles-Anderson College and graduated in 1994.  Then, after a few years as an office manager in a fortune 500 marketing company in Indiana, he joined the pastoral staff of Berean Baptist Church in 1998.  He oversees the finances, technology, and media of the church and school.  He teaches High School Bible, Computer, Yearbook, Photography, and Elementary P.E. at Berean Baptist Academy.  He also teaches the Building Families for Christ Adult Sunday School Class, the 4th-6th grade Master Clubs boys class on Wednesday night. He also enjoys singing in the choir and preaching at the nursing home and rescue mission.   He and His wife, Amy, have 4 children: Daren, Jessica, Holly, and Meagan.

Janeen Chase - Teacher

Mrs. Janeen Chase, the wife of Kevin Chase, was born in Flint, MI and reared in a Christian home with good, godly parents. She was saved at the age of 13 and as a teenager at youth conference she surrendered to serve the Lord full-time. After high school she attended Hyles-Anderson College where she received her Secretarial Certificate. She worked as church secretary in Toledo, OH then returned to Hyles-Anderson College and earned her teaching degree. She has taught at Hammond Baptist Grade School and Seattle Baptist Christian School and is currently teaching kindergarten at Berean Baptist Academy. She also teaches the first and second grade girls’ Sunday school class. Janeen enjoys being a wife and mother of 3 (Emilie, Elisabeth, and Elyse), sewing, and also has a part-time, work-at-home position where she teaches English to Chinese children via the internet.

Amy Cook - Teacher

Mrs. Amy Cook is the wife of Tim Cook. Born into a Christian home, Amy was saved at a young age and grew up in Imlay City, Michigan, and several places in Pennsylvania. Under the leadership of Pastor Steven Froelkie in Hummels Wharf, PA, she followed God's leading to the work of His ministry. She attended Hyles-Anderson College where she graduated with honors, majoring in Elementary Education. Tim and Amy were married in July of 1993 and moved with their two young childen to Adrian in 1998 when Tim became an Assistant Pastor. She taught kindergarten at BBA for many years starting in the fall of 2000. She currently teaches the 1st-3rd class and is the church nursery director. Amy has a very obvious love for children and pours her life into her teaching. She is a devoted wife, and now the mother of four children -- 2 young adults (Daren, married and living in Oregon; Jessica, at Golden State Baptist College; Holly and Meagan, students at BBA).

Patty Cook - Church Secretary

Miss Patty is the church secretary and has been attending Berean Baptist Church her entire life. She says "as far back as I can remember, my life has been involved in the ministries of Berean."   She was saved at the age of 7 and was blessed to attend Berean Baptist Academy from Kindergarten – 12th grade. She then attended Hyles-Anderson College where she received a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees. Soon after graduating from college, she was offered the opportunity to work as the Pastor’s secretary. Along with the many office duties, she enjoys decorating around the church. She is involved in the Teen soul winning ministry and the Teen nursing home ministry, sings in the church choir and works in the church nurseries. She also serves as the Assistant Coach for the lady Bobcat volleyball team.

Sara Pickinpaugh - Teacher

The ministries of Berean Baptist Church have been a focal point of Sara's entire life.  Born and raised at Berean, Sara was saved in Jr. Church during her 6th grade year and surrendered to "whatever God wanted" while on a missions trip to Mexico in 1990. She attended BBA from kindergarten and graduated Salutatorian.  She then earned a Bachelors degree in elementary Ed. and a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Pensacola Christian College.  After working for A Beka Academy's video school program, the Pickinpaughs moved back to Adrian in 2002.  Sara became a substitute teacher and then a full-time elementary teacher from 2011-2017.  In 2017 she  became the Video Coordinator for BBAs 7th-12th grade video streaming classes.  Sara enjoys working in the church nursery, singing in the choir, designing VBS sets, and directing the drama team for cantas and programs. She and her husband Robb (also a BBA graduate) have 4 children:  Jolyn, Krista, Caleb, and Joshua.

Saretha Riley - Teacher / Coach

Saretha has attended Berean Baptist Church since January of 1996. After graduating high school she studied Elementary Education at Hyles-Anderson College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. While attending Hyles-Anderson College she received the assurance of her salvation. After teaching 3 years at a Christian school in Michigan she joined the school staff at Berean Baptist Academy in 2002. Saretha has taught 1st-6th grades at BBA and is currently teaching 4th-6th grades. She also coaches the Lady Bobcat volleyball team, teaches the 2 & 3 year olds Sunday School class, oversees the Ladies Prayer Meeting on Sunday evenings, works in the church nurseries, and is involved in the Teen soul-winning and Teen nursing home ministry.
